Q - How to QUICKLY open the XBOX 360?
It is true what they say. Practice does make perfect. Still, you need to know what you are doing. The best way to improve the speed of opening the outer shell is to take a good look at it when you first take it off. Try to understand how the locking system on the back of the console works to minimize the damage caused during that easy procedure.
Sometimes things might get a bit frustrating and you start thinking of shortcuts. DO NOT TRY WHAT YOU SAW ON YOUTUBE, Im talking about snapping the case in one second! Take your time and it will pay off.
A) Remove all accessories; HDD, Memo Cards, etc
B) How to Remove the front face plate
from your XBOX 360
Insert the 1st, 2nd and 3rd finger into the slot that covers the two USB ports and put your thumb on the edge of the the plate. Pull gently, with not too much effort and the face plate should come away with ease.
C) How to Remove Grey End Plates
Looking through the ventilation shaft locate 3 locks on each side of the grey plate and insert the precision screwdriver (or anything thats thin enough) to release them pulling them slightly upwards with your other hand. The HDD Grey End Plate has one of the locks covered by the rubber foot. Simply remove the foot press the lock out and put the foot back in place.
D) Release 4 Front Clips
Easy, try to push the case apart while doing it.
E) Release 6 slots at the back of
the console
Put the precision screwdriver into the slots one by one and press till you hear click. Try to prevent the slots from closing back before you open all of them so keep pulling the case apart, be sensible. See how I use my left hand to push the case left and right.
Take the plastic side off and reveal the silver bottom part of the XBOX 360. Start taking the bolts out.
You will need T10 and T8 bits to unscrew 14 silver and 8 black screws respectively. Remove the Eject Button.
