XBOX 360 X CLAMP FIX - Step 5 - Overheating the console

A) Put the motherboard back in the silver case
Plug in the Twin Fan, DVD the daughter board, Power cable, AV cable.
Switch it on.
If it doesn’t work at first, you need to “bake it”.

B) Leave it on for about 10minuts and let it overheat.
You might see the lights on the power button going from RROD to 2 lights indicating that the console is overheating. That's the state you want it to stay for 10min. Sometimes it will only show you the RROD, still don't worry, have it ON for 10-12min and let it cool off.

F) Now Plug everything back again
and turn it on while the console is open
You should get the Green Lights if not go back
to Step 4 and do it again.

If it still does not work, play this to cheer yourself up

I hope that you found this guide helpful, cheers for now.

If you have any problems post it here and I will reply on the forum.
Best Regards

  2. Not every console is repairable..I would advise you to remove the kit, sell the console for parts or smash it with a hammer, get another 360 with RROD of ebay and try your luck with it.

  3. I know there is no guarantee for repairing xbox 360 just by replacing the xclamps, You might try to give it to people who do re-soldering of the CPU/GPU, this might help, but again its not 100%. I will refund you your money. What next is for you to decide.

  7. I just fixed mine, I overheated it for 24 hours before doing the xclamp fix, then after letting it overheat for 24 hours I unplugged the system and set about 3 lbs of weight on each heat sink and let it cool for about an hour, then I plugged it back in and it worked. Once the RROD was fixed thats when I did the xclamp fix in order to prevent it from happening again.

  9. I'm dead serious...get a PS3;better game library, much better hardware and you don't have to pay extra for everything that comes standard. If u wanna talk consoles(or shit) i am on the PSN screenname:timmmayy p.s.there are no overheating problems,no online-play charges,blu-ray is standard, the list goes on & on about how downright INFERIOR the xbox 360 really is...& on & on....

    1. PS3 has everything better, except all your mates have an XBox, and they seem to have XBox Live working so much better than PSN in my opinion. PSN is getting better, but chatting with your mates is slick as you like on an XBox :-)
